Warehouse Operations Apprentice

About the Role
Murray Plate are one of the UK’s largest steel plate stockholders, with a wide selection of steel grades in stock. The product range is backed by an established sales office network and logistical set-up that ensures swift delivery anywhere in the UK and to export customers.
Day-to-day activities will include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Picking plate orders
- Cutting plate by flame cut pod
- Operating overhead cranes
- Unloading/Loading trailers
- General warehousing
- Diligence with all warehouse paperwork
- Inputting warehouse production data
- Stock checking
- Driving a forklift truck/side loader/HGV Shunter
- Following and maintaining health & safety procedures and teamwork, problem solving and attention to detail
- Full training will be given to gain the technical skills to fulfil the role
- Warehouse work can be physically demanding
- Unheated warehouse
- Progression could be within warehousing or other parts of the group, such as admin or sales
- Opportunity to progress to a higher-level qualification
- Several members of staff are due to retire in the coming years, which will create new opportunities
About the Training
- The apprenticeship will be delivered with a blend of online & onsite meetings with their assessor every 4 - 6 weeks until completion of the apprenticeship
