About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established business with over 400 employees. You will undertake required payroll activities within your team to ensure accurate and timely payments to employees, assist the Team Lead and Payroll Specialist with day-to-day payroll activities, and support the wider HR team.

  • Timekeeping responsibilities for approx. 270 employees using a time management system whilst following multiple rota patterns and local pay agreements
  • Data maintenance on time management system including employee data, holiday entitlements, rota schedules and access controls
  • Calculating and processing accurate payroll amounts for overtime, temporary promotions and absences using local agreements
  • Calculating and processing SSP and company sick pay using statutory and local agreements
  • Gathering and providing statistical data for payroll team lead and or managers
  • Handling pay enquiries from employees, managers and HR
  • Assisting with ad-hoc administration tasks to ensure accurate data records
  • Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training

As with any apprenticeship opportunity - if you prove yourself to be a valuable member of the team there is a strong chance of a permanent post within the business.

About the Training

You'll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via teams every month - NO classroom OR college!) with your tutor and learn about the modules. You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete any apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. All apprenticeship work and training is completed in the workplace, during working hours.
