About the Role
We are recruiting for a Maintenance apprentice and welcome applications from individuals with a strong interest in understanding how things work and ideally some experience in design, assembly, or repair at a hobbyist level. The successful candidate will join our maintenance team and undertake a L3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician
- Gaining a full working knowledge in all aspects of maintenance, including learning to diagnose faults leading to repair as well as maintaining facilities process equipment
- Assisting and supporting with planned and reactive maintenance, as well as consult with internal stakeholders and subcontractors
- Complying with statutory, quality and organisational and health and safety regulations whilst carrying out manufacturing techniques
- Ensuring that plant and equipment perform to the required standard to facilitate production targets regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost within a high value manufacturing environment
- Working on a broad range of activities including installation, testing, fault finding and the on-going planned maintenance of complex equipment
- Using and interpret a range of engineering data sources and supporting documentation
- Using lean techniques to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Where appropriate, supporting installation, testing and commissioning of a wide range of equipment
- Conducting complex fault diagnosis and repair on high technology engineered systems
- Maintaining mechanical/electrical equipment
- Minimising machinery downtime by conducting preventative planned maintenance
- Confirming testing and subsequent smooth hand over of equipment and plant
- Reading mechanical/electrical schematics
- Using basic hand tools
- On successful completion of the Apprenticeship, there could be an opportunity of permanent employment
About the Training
- The training will take place at The Sheffield College's Olive Grove Training Centre, 1 day per week
