About the Role
Apprenticeship spans four years and is structured to provide comprehensive learning and skill development. The first three years involve practical learning at a bus depot, working alongside skilled technicians and using the latest diagnostic technology. Alongside practical, hands-on learning, you will also attend a specialised training college.
Year 1:
- A full overview of all vehicle systems, including Health and Safety, tools and equipment, inspections, wheels and tyres, braking principles, steering and suspension, engines, electrical principles, air and fuel, cooling and lubrication, and transmission and drivelines
Year 2:
- A deeper, more focused learning of electrical systems, body electrics, transmission and drivelines, and being able to remove an replace components
Year 3:
- Advanced body and electrical diagnostics, engine diagnostics, chassis diagnostics, transmission diagnostics, vehicle and component inspections, diagnosing and repairing components
