Electrical Maintenance Apprentice

The candidate will build their knowledge in a busy foundry environment, and this is therefore the basis of the candidate becoming the next generation of engineer.

• Ensure that all work is completed to a high standard, whilst complying with the Company’s Health and Safety requirements to ensure the safety of yourself and others
• To conduct risk assessments on all jobs in the form of 'Take Two’
  Communicate effectively with peers and management
• To work as part of the Maintenance Team ensuring all equipment is operating efficiently and safely
• Become fluent in the Company TPM maintenance system (Total Productive Maintenance) to ensure efficient running of plant assets
• Ensure that the working area is clean and tidy on completion of any job/task
• To install and maintain new and existing equipment, whilst ensuring production is not interrupted
• To put forward and communicate ideas and get involved with plant improvement

You will study on a Level 3 Engineering Technician on a Mechatronics Maintenance Technician pathway. On completion of this, you will gain a qualification in Engineering at Advanced Level 3

During the first year of the apprenticeship, your learning will take place at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre based at Catcliffe, Rotherham, for an initial block of study on a full-time basis. After this, you will attend the Training Centre for one day a week for knowledge study.
