About the Role

Aston Springs Farm a small, family-run farm is seeking an apprentice to join their close-knit team. You will be working towards gaining a L2 qualification while working hands-on with our livestock and animals. This outdoor role requires a passion for animal welfare, a strong work ethic, and the resilience to work in all weather conditions.

Your training and responsibilities as an Animal Care Apprentice, will include (but not be limited to) the following:

  • Animal Husbandry: Feed, water, and monitor the daily health of our livestock
  • Enclosure Maintenance: Clean out shelters, pens, and maintain high standards of hygiene
  • Health & Welfare: Assist with basic treatments, grooming, first aid, and health checks
  • Farm Duties: Help with general estate maintenance, including checking fences and moving animals safely
  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate, daily logs of animal behaviour , feed intake, and treatments.

You’ll learn side-by-side with experienced Farmers who are passionate about sharing their knowledge, giving you hands-on exposure to a wide range of tasks and a real understanding of how the whole business operates. With dedicated mentoring and support, you’ll build confidence, develop in-demand skills, and lay strong foundations for a long-term career in animal care.

About the Training

The successful candidate will continue their studies with apprenticeship specialists, RNN Group Training will be provided at the farm every 6 weeks on a one to one basis. giving you the training and support you need to become successful.
